CPI(M) city unit has urged the administration to issue white ration cards to the poor. Its floor leader in the VMC Ch. Babu Rao said the government stopped issuance of the cards. Some 6,000 families were suffering, as they were not issued the cards, he told Joint Collector S. Suresh Kumar in a memorandum.
