Holy Cross College triumphs

TIRUCHI: Holy Cross College defeated Cauvery College 25-12, 25-19 to win the title at the district-level inter-collegiate volleyball tournament for women here on Thursday.

The results: Final: Holy Cross College bt Cauvery College 25-12, 25-19. Semifinals: Holy Cross College bt Nehru Memorial College 25-21, 25-10; Cauvery College bt Paventhar Bharathidasan CET 25-18, 25-21.

Jai CC in final

THANJAVUR: Jai CC defeated TUK Arts College by two wickets and entered the final of the Indian Air Force Platinum Jubilee cricket tournament here.

The scores: TUK Arts College 187 in 36.1 overs (Karthikeyan four for 35) lost to Jai CC 191 for eight in 34.2 overs (Shiva 52).
