A love story that misfires

Film: Hello Premistaara

Cast: Sairam Shankar, Sheela

Director: Rajkumar

Hello Premistaara ..the title sounds freaky and one might mistake it for a teaser but the subject is a fairly conventional one - two identical looking boys, both in love with the same girl, it’s a perfectly serviceable plot, except for the key logical flaw that the guy who is given grey shades ends up becoming a hero, gets all the sympathy towards the end.

With a striking resemblance to the the Ajit-starrer Valee this film somehow slips through the cracks of public attention.

The film which looks light initially vacillates between being a love story and an elimination drama between the brothers. It could have been so much better but for the plot which loses it’s grip when the injured hero returns to unravel the history of the sibling.

One can see the story misfire while Vijay Kumar is frantically making efforts to expose the psychotic character.

At one stage the story looks unrealistic and convoluted especially when Sheela invites the hero into her room when her parent’s aren’t at home, switches off the lights and lies down with him just to show a galaxy of artificial stars on the ceiling.

Dialogues are cheesy and sometimes undeniably topical and often scathingly funny like in one instance you have Sunil imitating Mohan Babu to the hilt.

The dual roles might have given Sairam Shankar ample scope to perform but it becomes too heavy for this youngster, he could do with more power and intensity in his dialogues.

.

If you’re feeling adventurous, give Hello Premisthaara a shot.
