WARANGAL: Four persons died of dengue fever in the district and 41 cases were reported at the MGM Hospital so far. There has been a steady increase in the number of patients at the hospital. Keeping in view the alarming situation, Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah reviewed the functioning of the Medical and Health Department. He held a teleconference with the Revenue Divisional Officers to take stock of the situation, particularly in the agency mandals. He said each village panchayat was given Rs. 10,000 to take up a special sanitation drive and additional quantities of Alphy Cyper Methrin powder was made available for spraying all over the district. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
