Two people get involved in verbal duel during procession

ANANTAPUR: One Venkatesh (25) was allegedly hacked to death by one Premnath Reddy in Yadiki mandal mandal headquarters village in the district on Monday evening during the Ganesh immersion procession. According to the police, the two were engaged in a verbal duel during the procession being taken out as part of Ganesh idol immersion of Anjaneyaswamy Colony there. It all started with spraying of colours on each other. The argument between the two reached a flash point and Premnath Reddy allegedly hacked Venkatesh repeatedly during the procession itself. Venkatesh died on the spot.
