Sandeep Michael is Fortis’ hero

BANGALORE: Fortis, propelled by a triple strike from former international Sandeep Michael (20th, 30th & 47th), notched up a facile 5-2 victory over Army Green XI in the Tier I league of the Synergy Sports Super Division hockey tournament here.

Kulbhushan (19th) scored first for Fortis and Virendra Lakra (34th) broke Michael’s sequence of goals. Sanjeev Singh (fourth) scored the first goal of the match and Jerome Kujur (39th) slotted Amry Green’s second goal.

In another match, Canara Bank beat Hindustan Aeronautics Limited 4-2 with K.P. Dinesh (sixth, 37th & 64th) scoring for the winner.

Varun (43rd) also scored for Canara Bank. Rajesh (30th) and Illavarasan (45th) scored for the loser. — Special Correspondent
