JOHANNESBURG: In pursuit of 190 for a win, Sri Lanka was left tottering at 35 for three after five overs in its World Twenty20 Super Eights match against Pakistan on Monday. Chamara Silva and Jayawardene were at the crease after the departure of Upul Tharanga, Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara. Earlier, a stand of 101 off just 58 balls for the fourth wicket between Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan helped Pakistan to 189 for six, after they were ended the seventh over on 37 with three wickets down. Sanath Jayasuriya conceded 64 off his four overs — the most expensive figures of the tournament so far. — AP © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
