Belgaum: The Kannada Rakshana Vedike, headed by T.A. Narayan Gowda, has said that it would not support “traitors” who deceived the Kannada group in the Mayoral polls of the Belgaum City Corporation during 2005. Talking to presspersons here on Thursday, Mr. Narayan Gowda said the vedike had decided not support the former Deputy Mayor, Sunil Kudachi, and five others who were elected with the support of Kannada voters but supported a Maharashtra Ekikaran Samithi candidate in the Mayoral polls then. He said the vedike would post 50 workers in each polling booth in 19 corporation wards to support Kannada candidates on the day of polling on September 28. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
