Professor gets fellowship award

COIMBATORE: The Commonwealth Fellowship Commission has selected R. Sathyamoorthy, Reader in Physics, Kongunadu Arts and Science College, for the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship Award 2007.

According to a college release, Mr. Sathyamoorthy will design a nanotube/quantum dot sensitised solar cell and also plans to establish a nanoscience centre for energy conversion devices in the region.

Six months

The award will be for a period of six months. Mr. Sathyamoorthy is an active researcher in Nanotechnology and has published more than 50 research articles in international journals. He has carried out research projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology and University Grants Commission.
