NEW DELHI: The Central Government has approved the Ennore container terminal project with an outlay of Rs. 1,300 crore. The terminal will have a length of 1,000 sq. metres and will be implemented under the private-public partnership project (PPP) initiative. Revealing this at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce’s 4th Indo-U.S. Economic Summit here, Rakesh Srivastava, Joint Secretary, Ports, Ministry of Shipping, said the other PPP projects on offer included second container terminal at Tuticorn (Tamil Nadu), mechanised iron ore handling facilities at New Mangalore, deep draught iron ore berth at Paradip, multi purpose cargo berths at Kandla and outer harbour berths at Tuticorn.
