CHENNAI: The Madras High Court, which had stayed the construction of a signal tower by a telecom service provider in a residential area last week, vacated the interim order on Thursday. The stay, granted by the First Bench comprising Chief Justice A.P. Shah and Justice P. Jyothimani was vacated by the same Bench after counsel for the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority Hasan Mohammed Jinna informed the court that a stop work notice had already been issued. Recording the statement, the Bench disposed of the petition, filed by K. Jayavel of Pungambedu in Minjur. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
