Rupee reacts

MUMBAI: The rupee on Firday reacted slightly downwards to close at 39.90/91 against the U.S. currency on some dollar buying by oil refiners and suspected intervention by the central bank, despite heavy capital inflows.

In active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic unit opened slightly lower at 39.91/92 against Thursday’s close of 39.88/89.

But it recovered on heavy foreign fund inflows and stable equity markets. — PTI
