State Government to fill 8,000 posts

HYDERABAD: In a significant development, the Finance Department on Friday accorded clearance for filling of 8,000 posts through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission under Group I and II categories.

Notification soon

In tune with Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s direction to the APPSC to fill 10,000 vacant posts in various cadres in the next six months, the department gave the go-ahead. The APPSC was likely to issue a notification shortly.

Official sources said the process for recruitment of 2,000 posts in the police and excise departments had started earlier this month.

Vacant posts in key departments such as irrigation, revenue, roads and buildings and commercial taxes would be filled once the notification was issued.
