Belfry (England): Jyoti Randhawa put in a gritty performance and was rewarded with an even par round that saw him climb up from 26 to 18th place at the midway stage of the Quinn Direct British Masters. Jeev Milkha Singh and Shiv Kapur missed the cut on the European Tour event. Robert-Jan Derksen of Holland and England’s Mark Foster were tied for the lead at the end of the second round at seven under par 137 on a very tough day at The Belfry.
Kapur continued to struggle, as he found four more double bogeys in the second round leaving him out of weekend action with a round of eight-over 80, after shooting 78 in first round. He had two birdies and two bogeys besides four double bogeys. Atwal withdrawsHit by poor form and injuries, Arjun Atwal withdrew in the second round of the $675,000 Albertsons Boise Open at Boise in USA.
Ghei 35th Defending champion Gaurav Ghei joined Rahil Gangjee and S.S.P. Chowrasia in tied 35th place despite a six-over 78 in tough conditions at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters in Taipei. Digvijay Singh missed the cut with rounds of 77 and 78.
