KOCHI: For years, breaking into the Indian cricket team had been tough for the country’s talented youngsters. The berths were open to the elite few and they virtually played a game of musical chairs among themselves.

The delightful fare being dished out by youngsters now will keep the seniors on their toes, feels former Indian captain Ajay Jadeja. There are so many options available.

“The team is looking good. I don’t think Sehwag will get another fifty innings to prove himself now,” said Jadeja, who was here on Friday in connection with the ticket sales inauguration of the India-Australia one-dayer to be played on October 2. “A lot of people have been waiting for long,” he added.

Jadeja is clearly impressed with Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s leadership qualities at the World Twenty20 championship.

“I like the look of him. He seems to be enjoying the new role, it’s a good sign. Captaincy should not be looked at as a pressure job, it’s an opportunity.” — Principal Correspondent
