Sayona simply superb
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P.O. Sayona of Thiruvananthapuram rode to her third gold medal of the meet to hog the limelight on the second day of the State Track Cycling championship at the LNCPE Velodrome here on Saturday.
On the penultimate day, Sayona won the 1km scratch race in the girls’ under-17 and under-15 categories to add on to the 500m time trial gold she won on Friday.
Thiruvananthapuram is poised to retain the overall title after taking a huge lead at the end of the competition on the second day. The host was leading the table with 100 points followed by Alappuzha (26) and Pathanamthitta (17) respectively.
