Zhominthang scores seven

NEW DELHI: Seven goals by F. Zhominthang powered Hmar Veng High School, Mizoram, to a 14-0 victory over Sainik School, Imphal in a league match of the Subroto Cup junior football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.

Vansang Kima (4), H. L. Puia, Lalsena, M. Tuling were the other marksmen.

In another high-scoring match, Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa, Jabalpur defeated SJBP International School, Ahmedabad, 12-1.

Prateek Lal (4), Abhilash (3), Zuber, Luckey, Praveen Pari, Vipin and J. Mathew scored the goals for the winner.

Pankit Khant scored the lone goal for the loser.

Government Model Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, recorded an 8-0 victory over Kreeda Prabodhini School, Pune, following the goals by Gagandeep (4), Baljinder Singh (3) and Pankaj Negi.

Om Roy Higher Secondary School, Shillong, beat MP Sports College, Dehradun, 3-0 thanks to the goals by Federick Marbandag, Luhlanghi Phawa and Fludinstan.

Ankit Sharma and Gagan Singh struck a goal each as Air Force Bal Bharati School beat Prabhat Higher Secondary School, Chhattisgarh, 2-0.

National Cadet Corps, Aizawl drew 1-1 with Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow. — Special Correspondent
