Renu finishes 19th

CHIANG MAI (Thailand): Renu Bala Chanu finished 19th in the women’s 58kg category in the World weightlifting championships here on Saturday.

The Indian woman totalled 191kg with 86kg in snatch and 105kg in clean and jerk.

China’s Qiu Hongmei, risking everything in a final lift of 135kg in clean and jerk after two failures at 133kg, won the title with a total of 238kg. Russian Marina Shainova 237kg (105kg+132kg) was just a kilo behind for the silver.
