Chawla to miss Australia series

Mumbai: Injured leg-spinner Piyush Chawla has been ruled out of the seven-match one-day cricket series against Australia starting on September 29 in Bangalore.

“Chawla is out of the ODI series against Australia. But we will wait for some more time, may be till the team returns from South Africa, before naming a replacement,” Selection Committee chief, Dilip Vengsarkar, said.

Chawla had hurt his ankle during the World Twenty20 championship in South Africa and has been advised six weeks’ rest. — PTI
