VIJAYAWADA: Krishna Milk Union chairman Mandava Janakiramaiah has been urged to make peace with the Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (APDDCF) and the State government to protect the interests of lakhs of milk producers in Krishna district. APDDC Staff Workers’ Union chairman G.R. Prasad and Andhra Pradesh Dairy Mazdoor Sangh president A.V. Surya Narayana, in a joint statement, termed the dispute of the Krishna Milk Union with the APDDCF over Vijaya brand “unwarranted.” The dispute with the federation over the brand and other issues like properties would adversely affect the interests of milk producers of Krishna district. The union leaders questioned the propriety of selling milk and milk products worth Rs. 1 crore using Vijaya brand against the guidelines of the federation. It was wrong to sell products using the brand name at rates lesser than those stipulated by the federation, they maintained. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
