Special trains to Chennai

Thiruvananthapuram: Southern Railway will run weekly special trains in the Chennai Central-Kottayam-Chennai Central and the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore routes between October and February next to accommodate the heavy rush of passengers during Ramzan, Navaratri, Deepavali and Christmas.

According to Southern Railway, the 0635 Chennai Central-Kottayam Special will leave Chennai Central at 3.45 p.m. on Tuesdays from October 30 to January 22. The train will arrive at 5.45 a.m. the next day at Kottayam.

The 0636 Kottayam-Chennai Central Special will leave Kottayam at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays from October 31 to January 23. The train will arrive at Chennai Central at 4.15 a.m. the next day.

The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam Town. The 0636 will stop at Perambur also.

The 0613 Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 8.15 p.m. on Sundays from October 7 to February 10. The train will reach Nagercoil at 11a.m. the next day.

The 0614 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore train will leave Nagercoil at 1.30 p.m. on Mondays from October 8 to February 11. The train will arrive at Chennai Egmore at 4.30 a.m. the next day. The 0617 Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays from October 9 to February 12. The train will arrive at Nagercoil at 8.30 a.m. the next day. The 0618 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore Special will leave Nagercoil at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesdays from October 10 to February 13. The train will arrive at Chennai Egmore at 4.30 a.m. the next day. The 0613, 0614, 0617 and 0618 special trains will stop at Tamabaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Tiruchirapalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudanagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachi and Tirunelveli railway stations. The 0614 and 0618 speicals will stop at Mambalam also.
