Paswan against mid-term poll

PATNA: Union Minister and Lok Jan Shakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Wednesday opposed a mid-term general election and called for a procedure that would ensure a full term for the Lok Sabha.

Mr. Paswan told reporters that he was not sure when an election would be held. His party was always prepared for such an eventuality. He suggested that anyone initiating a no-confidence motion should also sponsor a confidence motion so that the legislative body itself could decide the contour of the new government.
