Man arrested for forging property documents

CHENNAI: One person was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly preparing fake documents for a property in Kottivakkam and selling it.

According to police, Tamilmani had allegedly prepared fake documents for the property worth Rs. 1. 4 crore and owned by Savithri Krishnan of Kilpauk Garden. He had then sold the property at a low price to one called Murugavel. The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to custody for 15 days, according to a press release from the Central Crime Branch.

Pirated DVDs

The Central Crime Branch police have arrested a businessman Raja alias Kuzhandai Raj for allegedly dealing in pirated DVDs and VCDs of recently released films such as ‘Pallikoodam’, ‘Arya’ and ‘Marudamalai.’

The police also confiscated equipment worth Rs. 50 lakh, including over 10,000 compact discs, MP3 players, DVD writers and player and 1,000 wrappers.
