Pisapati Narasimha Murthy dead

VIZIANAGARAM: Veteran stage artiste Pisapati Narasimha Murthy died of illness at a private nursing home here in the early hours of Friday. He was 88 and survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.

Member of Sangeeta Nataka Academy and recipient of several awards, including ‘Kalaprapoorna’ from Andhra University in 1993, Narasimha Murthy, who was born in Ramunivasala in Bobbili mandal on July 10, 1920, began his career as a stage artiste and rose to prominence with his role as Sri Krishna in the play “Pandava Udyoga Vijayaalu” of Tirupati Venkata Kavulu on the stage.

His body was taken to his native village for funeral to be held on Saturday.
