8 members of burglary gangs arrested

ADILABAD: Mandamarri police on Sunday recovered stolen property worth over Rs. 10 lakhs and arrested eight of the nine accused belonging to three separate gangs involved in burglaries from the area. “The effort resulted in the detection of 25 cases of property offences at one go”, pointed out Adilabad Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar.

The SP along with Additional SP (Administration) M. Ashok Kumar, Bellampalli Additional SP K. Ramesh narrated how the accused were arrested and put on display the recovered the stolen articles including 800 gms of gold ornaments, 15 kg of silver articles and electronic goods including a laptop, a camera and some wrist watches.

Confession

Mr. Anil Kumar said following some house breakings and a temple theft in Madaram and Mandamarri area, the clues team was able to get a lead that led to the arrest of Bhairi Srinivas, the leader of the gang known by his name. His confession led to the arrest of Mohd. Anwar and Masu Bhadraiah, the remaining members of his gang. Over 6 lakhs worth of property was recovered from this gang.

The major arrest also resulted in arrest of Vavilala Durga Prasad leader of the gang known by his name and members Thotapalli Krishna and G.Odelu.

Also, the temple theft gang members Gangipalli Chinna Mondi and Gosika Sridhar were arrested.

The SP praised the effort of Mandamarri CI G. Narender and SI P. Srinivas and the members of the ID party who were given rewards.

He appealed to the general public to use modern house locking systems when going on long out station visits.
