Five orphanage inmates flee

The Cyberabad police are on look-out for five students who escaped from an orphanage at Hayathnagar on Friday. Mahender, Praveen, Jangaiah, Sandeep and Gopal, all aged around 12, fled by scaling the compound wall.

They are seventh-standard students.

Woman ‘held’

Residents of Osmangunj caught a mentally-challenged woman accusing her of trying to kidnap children on Sunday. Shaheda, 25, a resident of Borabanda, was wandering in the area when residents got suspicious and handed her over to the police.

Succumbs to injuries

A housewife, who set herself ablaze at her residence at Malkajgiri on Friday, succumbed to injuries at Gandhi hospital on Saturday. The police said P. Jyothi, 22, killed herself following alleged harassment by her husband, Konda Reddy, for additional dowry.

Auto driver murdered

An autorickshaw driver, Shaik Ibrahim, 22, was reportedly murdered by his brother, Raheem, at their house in Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar on Saturday. The police said Raheem hit Ibrahim’s on his head with a stick after a quarrel over sharing money they got after selling a piece of land.

Ends life

An unidentified person committed suicide by hanging to the railing on upper Tank Bund on Sunday. The man in mid- 20’s was clad in blue shirt and black trouser, the police said.
