The Krishna district committee of the CPI(M) has demanded that the government give up its proposed plan to set up residential public schools with private participation in rural areas.

In a statement on Friday, party’s district unit secretary V. Umamaheswara Rao criticised that the government was keen on promoting interests of the influential sections.
