VIZIANAGARAM: Nine militants who were moving suspiciously in Tikiri forest area in Kurupam mandal were arrested by a special police team on Sunday and an arms dump consisting of five landmines, three empty steel boxes, one pistol, 84 rounds of bullets, six grenades, olive green uniforms, medicines, extremist literature, etc, unearthed, according to Officer on Special Duty (OSD) M. Ravindrababu. Arrested naxalsThe arrested naxals were Arika Raja Rao, Arika Govindu, Arika Chinna Rao, Biddika Suresh, Biddika Bapaiah, Arika Balayya, Arika Mangu, Vooyuki Sarango and Mandangi Joshiyo. They were sent for remand, Mr Ravindrababu added. Gajapathinagaram Sub-Inspector P. Ranganath, Reserve Sub-Inspector L. Himagiri, Neelakantapuram Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna and Reserve Sub-Inspector M. Jagan Mohana Rao led the special police team.
