Jacob Trophy from today

PALAKKAD: The Jacob Trophy Kerala State senior inter-zone cricket championship begins at the Fort Ground here on Monday.

South Zone, host Central and North are the three teams in the fray in the 11-day event which will see a series of three-day matches.

The State team for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy matches will be selected from this event. Kerala, which figures in Plate League, opens its Group ‘A’ campaign against Vidharbha in Nagpur on November 3.

Kerala plays just one match at home this season, against Services in mid-November. — Principal Correspondent
