Undying spirit of youth

A walk into one of the recently concluded youth festivals in the city proved beyond doubt that the spirit of college life never fades.

It grows every minute, going by the exuberance shown by the students.

For many, such festivals are a time for a get-together and a break from their daily routine.

Says Ancy George, an engineering student: “We eagerly look forward to the festival season in our academic calendar. It is a welcome break from the daily classes and practical work.”

“The thrill is in meeting students who come from different campuses. I have several friends who make it a point to attend youth festivals held across the State. We enjoy every minute of this get-together,” he says.

Excitement is always in the air, as the festivals provide a platform for students to unveil their talents. Says Ron Sebastian, an engineering student:

“We also get a chance to match our skills with students from other campuses. Most of the events held these days also test the management and the communicative skills of the youngsters.”

Be it IGNIZ 07 or Talentime, festivals help students to fine-tune their organisational and entrepreneurial skills.

Says Anand Bhasi Rajan, an engineering student: “The preparations start days ahead of the event. We meet sponsors and other partners and plan the entire programme professionally. Organising such events will help us in taking up greater responsibilities in future.”

Says Pramod P, a MCA student: “Youth fetes offer the space to explore life in a different way. They are also the time when students forget their differences and join hands for fun and excitement.”
