Edupayala gets ready for ‘Navaratri’

SANGAREDDY: The colourful nine-day Edupayala Sarannavaratri festival of Vanadurga Bhavani Mata of Nagsanpalli would begin from 12th of this month.

The festival which has been accorded the status of State Festival will begin with the traditional offering of “Sare” by the local legislator P. Sasidhar Reddy whose family has been the trustee of the temple for years.

Even though celebrating Dasara is new compared to the Sivaratri celebrations known as Edupayala Jatara, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make it a big success.

A meeting on preparations was convened by the revenue divisional officer of Medak with officials from Roads and Buildings, Panchayat, Health and the Devasthanam to discuss the arrangements.
