Thiruvananthapuram: The Government has set up a high-power committee with the Thrissur Collector as its chairman and the Agriculture Director as convener to study the possibilities of revival of agriculture in the Muriyad kayal area. Other members of the committee are Agricultural University Research Head D. Alexander, Pattambi Paddy Research Centre Professor P.V. Balachandran and Thrissur Principal Agricultural Officer Ravindranath. The committee has been asked to submit its report within a month. The setting up of the committee follows talks which the Agriculture Minister had with officials of the Agricultural University, the Agriculture Production Commissioner, the Agriculture Director and top officials of the Agriculture Department with a view to solve the problems of the area. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
