Rupee remains firm

MUMBAI: The rupee on Thursday continued its upward march against the greenback and ended at yet a fresh 9-1/2 year high of 39.30/31 on sustained capital inflows. The rupee neared the 39.26 level touched on February 25, 1998 during early trade as stock market rallied smartly.

In quiet trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee moved in a narrow range of 39.28 and 39.33 during the day after resuming firm at 39.28/30 from the previous close of 39.31/3150. — PTI
