NEW DELHI: In a festive season “gift” to the traders, Delhi Finance Minister A.K. The Minister, who gave the assurance while meeting a delegation of traders who called on him, said the offer has been extended to traders as an acknowledgment of their contribution towards payment of taxes.

During the meeting, the traders presented the Minister with their demands. They requested him to provide for online submission of quarterly returns, ensure arrangement of delivery of various forms through a counter situated on the ground floor, bring about rationalisation of rates of VAT and put an end to the harassment by the officials and staff of the Department. The Minister lauded the role of the traders in making VAT a success and said the Department was moving towards complete e-governance. He said now the traders would not be required to submit the hard copy after submission of their online return as the Department was adopting a system to provide for submission of online return .
