Karnataka sitting pretty

VISAKHAPATNAM: Goa was struggling at 22 for five in its second innings against Karnataka on the third day of the South Zone U-22 (C.K. Nayudu Trophy) cricket tournament at the ACA–VDCA Stadium on Sunday. A. Mithun picked up three wickets.

Earlier, Karnataka declared its second innings at 307 for three in 58 overs. Chelvaraj top-scored with 120 (13x4, 1x6), while Amit Varma hit 57 (8x4, 2x6).

The scores: Karnataka 222 & 307 for three decl. in 58 overs (Chelvaraj 120, Amit Varma 57) vs. Goa 214 in 121.4 overs (Aniketh Desai 73, Ryan D. Souza 42, K.P. Appanna four for 33) & 22 for five in 10 overs.

Hyderabad 297 & 154 for one in 46.3 (D. Prince 67 batting, D.B. Ravi Teja 77) vs. Tamil Nadu 250 in 88.5 overs (R. Ashwin 59, Ashwin Yadav four for 41).

Kerala 102 & 182 for eight in 71 overs (Rohan Prem 71) vs. Andhra 376 for seven decl. in 129 overs (D. Suman 161, K. Bharat Reddy 52 n.o., Shiju four for 91).
