Rally to mark ‘first freedom struggle’

KADAPA: The first freedom struggle was launched in Kadapa district in 1847, a decade before the 1857 mutiny.

In order to coincide with completion of 150 years of the first struggle for freedom, a massive rally from Koti Reddy Circle and a commemoration meeting will be held in Kalakshetram here on October 29, Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Monday.

The Collector called upon officials to make the rally and the meeting a grand success. Some persons of Kadapa will also participate in the rally on AP Formation Day on November 1.

CEO of STEP B. Maheswara Reddy, INTACH convenor S. Sitaramaiah and others participated.
