Welling to lead

DHARWAD: South-paw Sumanth Welling of Belgaum will lead the Dharwad Zone cricket team for the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA)’s inter-zonal under-15 cricket tournament at Bangalore.

Dharwad Zone, the reigning champion, will start its campaign with a match against Bangalore at RSI (Turf) on October 18 and 19 in Bangalore.

The team: Sumanth Welling (Captain), Ganesh Kangralkar, Nagendra Patil, Rohan Kadam (all from Belgaum), Sushant Masalwad (vice-captain), M.H. Tejas, Ramachandra Hegde (wk), Akshay Angadi, Mallik Shirur, Murali Rajagopal, Sohail Ali (all from Hubli), Shreyas Murdeshwar, Shashank Hulamani (wk) (both from Dharwad) and Ritesh Bhatkal and Manjunath Prasad (both from Karwar). — Staff Correspondent
