Chinnappa, Yashodha bag honours

Mysore: H.A. Chinnappa of Madras Regiment Centre, Wellington (Coonoor) ran a tactical race, overtook second placed Siddappa Shivannur of Dharward around 600m from the finish line to win the men’s event (21.1km), with a time of 1:09:43.00s, in the 4th Mysore half-marathon.

In the women’s section, I.B. Yashoda of Alwas College, Mudabidare (Karnataka), won the title clocking 1:30:48.00s.

Madhavi of Women’s College, Hubli, finished second at 1:31:13.00s

Meanwhile, the Dasara Sports Committee will conduct the cycle road race from Bangalore to Mysore for men and for women from Ramnagaram to Mysore on Wednesday.

In the swimming events, Bangalore City’s swimmers dominated the proceedings in both the men’s and women’s section by bagging the major share of the gold medals which were at stake.
