Semifinalists spotted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kozhikode, Palakkad, Malappuram and Ernakulam entered the semifinals of the State U-19 inter-district football championship here on Tuesday.

Defending champion Kozhikode thrashed host Thiruvannathapuram 5-0. Palakkad edged out Idukki by a solitary goal to make the grade. Malappuram overcame Idukki 3-0 while Ernakulam defeated Wayanad 2-0 to enter the last four stage. Kozhikode will meet Palakkad while Malappuram will take on Ernakulam in the semifinals.

Easy for Christ

Christ College, Irinjalakuda, blanked SN College (Shoranur) 3-0 in the Calicut University inter-collegiate football tournament at the Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrisuur, on Tuesday.
