KSP trounces Oriental

Bangalore: KSP blanked Oriental 7-0 in a State super division league match at the Football Stadium here on Tuesday.

Sampath Kumar (35th, 67th and 86th min.) led the fray as Karthik (13th min.), Archan (18th and 36th mins.) and Karthikeyan (56th mins.) also scored the goals to put the match beyond Oriental’s grasp.

Earlier in an ‘A’ division league match, RBI and HMT played out a 3-3 draw. Ramesh Babu, P.L. Roshan and Rajan Wilfy scored for RBI while Muthu, Benjamin and Vikram scored for HMT.

Meanwhile in a ‘C’ division league match at the Malleswaram Grounds, Minerva defeated Bangalore Yellows 3-1.

Kishore, Udesh and Hemanth scored for the victors while Zaid scored Bangalore Yellows’ lone goal.

Shreyas, Nihal hit centuries

Shreyas Gopal’s 141 and Nihal Shilar unbeaten 106 helped Combined City XI post 332 for three in the stipulated 75-over first innings against Bangalore Zone in a KSCA inter-zonal under-15 tournament match that commenced here on Tuesday.

At close, Bangalore Zone scored 41 for three in 25 overs.

Combined City XI 332 for three in 75 overs (Shreyas Gopal 141, Nihal Shilar 106 n.o., O.B. Sai Kumar 67) vs Bangalore Zone 41 for three in 25 overs.

Mysore Zone 263 for nine in 75 overs (Parikshith 92) vs Tumkur Zone 26 for one in 16 overs.

Shimoga Zone 219 in 70.4 overs (M.A. Karthik 50, Vijay Kmar 44, V.M. Rasheed five for 57) vs Mangalore Zone one for no loss in 0.1 overs.

Bangalore City XI 121 in 32.5 overs vs President’s XI 245 for four in 62 overs (Samarth 128 n.o., Aman Raj 65).

Aditya Prakash to train in Indonesia

The Karnataka State junior champion Aditya Prakash, a trainee of Tata Padukone Badminton Academy (TPBA), will train for a month in Indonesia.

The TPBA, has made this arrangement with Indonesia’s leading badminton training centre — the Suryanaga Club in Surabaya.

Aditya Prakash will train under Hadi Sugiyantho, who was earlier the National doubles coach in India for two years.

In the past, Anup Sridhar and Rohan Castelino had done similar training stints in 2004. Aditya will leave Bangalore on Wednesday for his month-long stint at Indonesia.
