Plea to introduce train to Nagercoil

TIRUPUR: Coimbatore district unit of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions has appealed to the Railway Ministry to operate festival season special trains between Coimbatore and Nagercoil, via Erode, Karur and Madurai.

In a statement, its State secretary M. Chandran asked the authorities to operate an express in the route for the benefit of thousands of migrant workers.

He said the train was announced in the Railway Budget.
