Literary meet to mark Navarathri festival

THANJAVUR: Innerwheel Club of Thanjavur will organise a literary meet to mark the Navarathiri festival in Thanjavur on October 21.

According to Innerwheel News Bulletin Editor Usharani Sudhakar and club president Ushanandini Viswanathan, the meet — “Sakthi Ilakkiya Sangamam 2007” — will be held at Tamil University. The world now is market economy driven and in the process there is a fall in human values. Literature will help to rejuvenate such values.

Poetry and essay competitions will be held for Innerwheel club members, they added.

‘Kolu contest’

Ms. Ushanandini said the Innerwheel Club, in association with the Indian National Trust for Cultural Heritage, organised ‘kolu’ competitions at temples, schools, houses and business establishments.
