RPF conducts mock drill

TIRUCHI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a mock rescue and relief drill at Srirangam Railway Station on Thursday.

Utilising the necessary paraphernalia, including stretchers, nylon ropes and dragon search lights, meant for emergencies, a team of RPF perosnnel embarked on the mock operation as soon as the Villupuram–Tiruchi passenger train arrived at the railway station.

Carrying ropes, the RPF men immediately cordoned off the simulated accident spot and shifted the ‘injured’ in stretchers for medical treatment.

Staff participate

The brief operation was carried out involving staff drawn from the commercial, safety and medical branches of the railway department, besides fire and rescue service personnel.
