St. Ephrem’s, S.N. Trust win

ALAPPUZHA: St. Ephrem’s HSS (Mannanam) scored a thrilling last-minute 73-72 win over St. Josephs’ HSS (Thiruvananthapuram) and lifted the boys’ title in the eighth all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the Porukara Junior College floodlit court, Champakulam, on Sunday.

Earlier, S.N. Trust HSS (Kollam) retained the girls’ title defeating Mount Carmel HSS (Kottayam) 34-25.

The results (finals): Boys: St. Ephrem’s 73 (Aby Sony 20, Rony Mathew 12, Jerin Joy 10) bt St. Joseph’s 72 (Jinson Eugene 20, Sarath Mohan 13, Shan Shoukathali 11).

Girls: S.N. Trust 34 (Kenny Susan Lalu 12, R.K. Smruthy 10) bt Mount Carmel 25 (Sona M. Saji 10).
