Kolkata: All documents considered relevant to the investigation into the death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman, so long in the custody of the West Bengal government’s Criminal Investigation Department, have been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that is now probing the case. The body of Rahman was found under mysterious circumstances by the side of the railway track near here on September 21, some weeks after his marriage to the daughter of an influential city businessman. The CBI began its investigation on October 20 after it was directed to do so through an interim order by the Calcutta High Court last week. The Bureau is to submit its report to the High Court within two months. The CBI has summoned Pradip Todi, brother of Ashok Todi, father-in-law of Rahman. Ashok Todi was against the marriage of his daughter, Priyanka, to Rahman. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
