MYSORE: The International Academy of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (IAMAS) and Rotary Mysore Midtown Adventure Foundation will be taking a team of students for the National Goa Trekking Expedition 2007 to Kuveshi and Goa in the Western Ghats in December.

The expedition organised by the Goa State branch of Youth Hostels Association of India will be from December 25 to January 4.

It aims at exposing the students to greater adventure, creating a love for nature and outdoor activities.

“Goa provides a multitude of natural attractions and its spell is so deep that one cannot resist the temptation of visiting it again and again,” a press release from IAMAS said.

There will be lots on offer for the participants — a panoramic view of the hills, sandy beaches, the Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and the Dudhsagar Falls.

The team will leave Mysore for Panaji on December 25. The programme is open for students aged between 10 and 25. Shankara Subrmanaya N., chairman of IAMAS will lead the team.

Only 20 students will be taken for the expedition and hence registrations will be done on first-come-first-served basis.

For registrations, contact Mr. Subramanaya (Ph.9880273405) between 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. at State Bank of Mysore, Market Branch, New Sayaji Rao Road; or Margaret (Ph.4260320) between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. at Rotary Mysore Midtown, Rotary Centre, First Floor, J.L.B Road.
