ABM Infotech makes semifinals

CHENNAI: ABM Infotech entered the semifinals with a 5-0 win over Homely HC in a Chennai Hockey Association first division league match at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Monday. Charles (2), Raja, Sudharson and Anbu scored for ABM Infotech.

In another match, Toronto HC and St. George’s HC played out a goalless draw.

Chennai will meet Tiruvallur in the final of the junior State football championship at SDAT-Nehru Park here on Wednesday.

The results (semifinals): Tiruvallur 2 (E. Thomas 2) bt Madurai 0; Chennai 3 (Ashokan, Dilip Kumar, K. Kamesh) bt Coimbatore 0.

Dilip Sarathy’s 74 and P.B. Anand’s effort of six for 65 helped Swaraj CC defeat SPIC RC by 36 runs in a TNCA second division league cricket match played here recently.

Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), with 188 points, won the team championship in the Chennai district senior weightlifting championship at the Nehru Stadium here on Monday.

Sri Devi finished second with 178 points, while Police (174) came third. S. Arul Doss (FCI) was adjudged the best lifter of the championship.
