A stipend of Rs. 100 would be provided to each participant apart from lunch KANCHEEPURAM: A capacity building training programme for service providers in hotel and cafeteria industries will be conducted at Hotel Tamilnadu here on October 30 and 31. According to sources, persons employed in small hotels, lodging houses, cafeterias, roadside eateries and ‘dhabhas’ would be trained in hospitality aspects, communication skills, basic hygiene, nutrition and preparing cuisines in a hygienic manner. It has been proposed to train a total of 400 people, including 80 from lodging houses during the two-day programme. A stipend of Rs. 100 would be provided to each participant apart from lunch. The State Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Tiruchi, would be conducting the programme. It would be sponsored by the Union Ministry of Tourism, the sources said. ApplicationsApplication forms could be collected from Tourism Officer, Kancheepuram District, or at Hotel Tamilnadu, Kancheepuram.
