Two ‘criminals’ gunned down

NEW DELHI: Two alleged criminals were gunned down in an encounter with a joint team of the Delhi Police Special Cell and their Uttarakhand counterparts in Hardwar on Thursday. According to the police, the Special Cell received a tip-off that Gurbachan, a registered BC of the Dabri police station here had been spotted in Hardwar. A team under Assistant Commissioner of Police L.N. Rao was despatched there. A joint team of the Special Cell and the Uttarakhand police laid a trap for the suspect travellingwith his accomplice.The police spotted the car around 2 p.m. and waved at the driver to stop. The car’s occupants allegedly opened fire at the police team.
