PCTC enters final

BANGALORE: Pioneer Corps Training Centre beat Maharatta Light Infantry 6-5 via the tie-breaker to enter the final of the DS Murthy & V. Karunakaran memorial hockey tournament here on Friday.

PCTC will clash with Army Service Corps which beat Karnataka State Police 4-2 in the second semifinal.

PCTC and MLI was locked 2-2 in the regulation time. Kalyan Kumar (second) and S. Mandu (17th) scored for PCTC while Sunil Kumar (19th) and Manju (66th) scored for MLI.

In the tie-breaker S. Kujur, A. Barla, S. Mandu and Anthony scored for PCTC while Sunil Kumar, Krishna Patel and Ganesh Patel scored for MLI.

Army Service Corps proved to be too good for KSP with R. Bhengra (5th), Deepu (27th), Subbaiah (61st) and S. Tete (64th) scoring at regular intervals.

Sundar (eighth) and Lakshman Rao (40th) scored for the losing side.
